Ring of Flowers

Hello there!

This week I bring you all a card I made focussing on wedding season, I hope you find it inspiring!

Products (From left to right):

I started this project by drawing a circle of flowers with a pencil, then inking with my Cocoiro pen.

Put some gold in the rings, using my Wink of Luna, and then mixed it with the Gold and Coral watercolours from the pearlescent palette.

Using my green wink of Luna on the leaves, as I also mixed it with some Gold, Emerald and Turquoise watercolours. It gives a cool effect, as I add layers and I build a solid color, but still looks luminous.

Colouring the flowers using the Cooper watercolour for the poppies, and Amethyst plus Sapphire for the other flowers, making a gradient, as the waterbrush permits me to do when the colour runs our but water keeps flowing from the tip.

Then, I carefully wrote by hand the sentiment with my Cocoiro Letter pen.

Here, a closer view of the sparkling effect I got.

And here, all finished! It's a bit minimalist, but I like how it looks at the end :) As I said above I hope you get some ideas for your projects!

Grettings, enjoy your day!

Paper Diamond with ZIG Pearlescent Watercolor Jewel Box

Diamonds are a girls best friend, but they can be expensive. Here at Kuretake UK, we thought we would add a bit of glamour and make this beautiful 3D Origami diamond. Using the beautiful pearlescent jewel box for adding pearl like effects, you can create your own diamond.
But why stop there, you could make one for  your friend and add a surprise gift inside as a gift box or make a diamond bunting to hang across your mirror to remind you to shine like a diamond everyday!

1.       Download this template, print out on a piece of black or white paper and cut around the solid line.

2.       Using a ruler, start folding the dotted lines (you can score along the dotted lines using a needle to make it easier to fold)

3.       Now, join all together. Using ZIG 2 Way Glue stick each flap into the other side.

4.       Using ZIG Waterbrush H2O, paint the diamond with ZIG Pearlescent Watercolor Jewel Box.

Remember to keep on shining!

Pearlescent Inspirational Tag

Today it’s my turn again to show another step by step. I wanted to use a handwritten quote on today’s project.

First step is to make a background and I took out my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I taped my watercolor tag onto a little board so I could have it standing straight up. I added some of the color 57 Turquoise on top of my tape after making my paper wet. Then I used a bottle of water to spray on top of my paint and I had it running down. If the color gets to thin, just add some more at the top and have it running down.

When I had dried this layer I turned my board and added a second layer on top of my blue. This time I used 37 Deep pink and I kept it more centered at what will become the top of my tag.

When this second layers was dry too I used my 57 turquoise to stamp on my tag. Just color in your rubber stamp using the Gansai tambi. I wanted to add a bit of shimmer too so I also had some pearlescent watercolor on my stamp.

I then glued down some black cut out swirls on my tag and added even more pearlescent watercolor around them. I made my paper a bit wet and added the pearlescent watercolors so they could move around a bit. I also had some splatters on my tag.

On a piece of watercolor paper I drew some lines to help me write straight. I used the Fudegokochi marker to write down my quote. I also used it to draw a line around afterwards.
Now it’s only a matter of gluing down my tag on a background paper and adhere my handwritten quote on top of it too.

Used materials:
Watercolor paper
Gansai Tambi nrs 37 Deep pink – 57 Turquoise
Pearlescent watercolors
Kuretake Fudegokochi marker
