Japanese Projects by Helen Stockwell

Helen Stockwell has been very busy create a number of wonderful pieces to coincide with our Japanese theme.

This wonderful hand made book uses tradition Japanese stab binding and was made using Kuretake Traditional Japanese Paper sets and a Black ZIG Brush Writer. This Japanese symbols read Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and the inside is filled with four short poems about each season.

Kuretake Traditional Japanese Paper sets and ZIG Brush Writers were used to make these lovely picture. These read (left to right) Bamboo, Happy New Year and Happy Valentines day. Helen has created a traditional origami crane (centre) and also created a stamp to make her name look like Japanese. This stamp was coloured with a Red ZIG Brush Writer and then transferred to the paper.

Helen used a Gold ZIG Brush Writer to add these Japanese characters to pebbles. These pebbles mean (top row left to right) Helen, love (bottom row left to right) hope, peace, peace and Japan

Finally Helen created these origami star boxes that would have traditionally been filled with nibbles. These were made using Kuretake Traditional Japanese Paper sets.
