Kurecolor Inks with Jamie Cripps

New Design Team member Jamie Cripps has created this beautiful card, using our Zig Kurecolor Inks to make the flower.

What Jamie has used:

Inks: 264 Geranium Red and 705 Brown Zig Kurecolor Alcohol Inks (Kuretake)
Adhesive: 2-Way Chisel Tip (Zig) and Foam Squares (American Crafts)
Patterned Paper: Homestead 6x6 (SEI)
Cardstock: White (The Paper Studio)
Punch: Ticket (Tonic) and Border (EK Success)
Stickers: Metal Sentiment (Momenta)
Gem: Smooth Clear (Hero Arts)
Ribbon: Grey Plaid (May Arts)

Tutorial Steps:

1.  Cut Samantha Walker's Marigold Silhouette Cut file on white cardstock the prepare your surface to work with the Zig Kurecolor Alcohol Inks.  We will start with the 264 Geranium Red.

2.  Place several drops of the alcohol ink on one of the flower pieces.

3.  Using wax paper, blot the ink and move it around the flower.

4.  Your flower piece should look like this.

5.  Go around the edges with the 217 Cadmium Red Kurecolor Marker.  This will provide a bit of shading and hide any areas missed from the inking.

6.  On your wax paper, place a couple drops of the 705 Brown Alcohol Ink then move it around within the wax paper.

7.  Blot the color on to the flower piece until you have the look you desire.

8.  Repeat these steps for all the flower pieces.

9.  Starting with the largest flower piece, place a foam adhesive square in the center.

10-14.  Adhere the next size flower piece then place another foam square.

15.  Your finished flower should look similar to this.

Jewel Stones Charms by Margie Higuchi

I was watching the Presidential Debate while I was doodling...I think you know my state of mind at the time was! LOL!!! Sorry about the bad lighting.

Then using my Grand Calibur® Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, I cut/embossed the plastic with a few of S5-098 Jewel Stones dies. Then I punched holes on top of the die cuts and used my heating tool to shrink. To create some cute charms to use for a future project :)

Thanks for letting me share my news and a little project to go with!

Happy Halloween with Zig Scroll and Brush Pens

Well Autumn is truly on us, the leaves are turning into beautiful shades of reds, oranges and browns and the frosty air makes you want to wrap up warm!

With Halloween at the end of the month I decided to make a quick card using the Zig Scroll and Brush pens.

Product Used : Kuretake Zig Scroll and Brush Pure Red and Chocolate
Rusty Pickle Thriller Papers

I used the Brush tip to write 'Happy Halloween' in brown and then used the red pen to add the drips of 'blood'.  This was done by pressing the nib down onto the paper, similar to how the flower petals are done in {this} video on the Kuretake website.

Happy Creating
Beckie :)

Miria's Winter Delight with ZIG Art & Graphic

Hi, Miria here.

Today I'd like to show you how you can give a lovely watercoloured effect on your digis using Kuretake Zig Art&Graphic Twins.

I used a sweet image from Polka Doodles and have created some easy step by step stages with images for you to have a go!

First I coloured the girl's face with Kurecolor Flesh Colour and Pale Pink
I used ZIG Art & Graphic Twins n.72 and n.73 for her hair and n.313 for her clothes

I just put a little colour on a stamp plate using the brush tip

Then I started colouring the hair gently using fab H2o Kuretake Waterbrush

I added some colour to let some shadows show

I used the fine tip to give definition

I started colouring the clothes using the same technique

You can see the final result on a card I made. Hope you can have fun giving a try to it! Hugs, Miria

Thanks Mira....It Looks FAB!!! Steph ;-)
